the Givens mineral hot springs . . .

giventsFour weeks ago this past Tuesday, we took the big plunge

over and into the Mineral Hot Springs here about 28 miles southwest of us in Givens, Idaho across the river on the other side of the quaint small city of Marsing

A couple of friends of ours, Toby and Jacinto, came by to visit on hot Saturday afternoon and in the course of our chit chat Jacinto mentioned these hot springs to my husband.. my husband filed that in his memory bank for a short while. Those days were like — wayyy too hot for me to even thimk of visiting their hot hot pools! But, one fine day August day Raul went into that vault of memories and pulled that memory out. So I went online and looked up Givens Mineral Hot Springs.

I acquired their email address and on August 9 sent off a request for particular information and received their response that same afternoon. With a printed map in hand we drove on up the following Tuesday. We purchased two family punch cards and have used them on each of our three visits now. We have really enjoyed the soaks! the water is soooo hot and soft and can be sooo relaxing. You come out of the waters feeling sooo nice and the drive home is wonderful.

The heat of the sun cannot be felt and we drive along the winding roads with the ‘sun roof’ open and the windows half way down as my hair is whisked around by the winds and Rudy Raul is lulled to sleep–until I pull up and park next to the Whitehouse Drive thru — but instead of driving through we go into their dining area or stay out and eat our lunch on their patio. Nice.

I wrote again to Nadine Givens asking her for the information that is posted below — and here is an excerpt of her response to me:: come to Idaho!

Below you’ll find the analysis of the water.

As for the water temperature in the tubs, just suffice it to say that it’s as hot as you could possibly want it. It comes out of the ground at 140′, but is considerably cooler by the time it reaches the poolhouse. I’m sure you’ve found you need to start with the “cooled” water, however, just adding the water from the red faucet at the end, if needed.

  3. Not that I’m totally impressed, but this is a lot more than I expected for when I found a link on Furl telling that the info is quite decent. Thanks.
